1. What is a Quick Skan
Gauge?
A Quick Skan Gauge is a measuring device used to measure the length,
width, and squareness of cut paper, film, foil, sheet aluminum and
other flat media. Because all of our gauges are accurate to a thousandth
of an inch, or a hundredth of a millimeter, Production and Quality
Control Personnel can use the gauge to accurately set up their knives,
slitters, and other cutting tools during production.
2. How does
the gauge work?
Quality Control and Production Personnel will take one sheet of
paper, film or foil out of a production run and place it flat on
the Quick Skan Gauge. The dimensional measurement of the sheet is
obtained by reading the gauge where the sheet intersects the line
on the numbered grid. Green lights illuminate the numbered grid
to assist in reading the dimensions. The squareness measurement
is obtained using the same technique with the various grids along
the side of the glass plate.

3. Why should
I use a Quick Skan Gauge?
You'll save time, save money, increase production efficiency
and boost customer satisfaction! By using a Quick Skan Gauge, you'll
reduce waste and be able to produce a precise product that will
help you avoid costly and time-consuming complaints from your customers.
4.
Can I check the calibration of my gauge?
Yes, each gauge is accompanied with a Calibration Plate
specific to that model. This Calibration Plate allows you to perform
periodic calibration checks in accordance to your Quality Assurance
requirements. If your gauge is out of calibration, follow the instructions
provided with the gauge or from this
website to re-establish calibration.
5.
Which gauge will best suit my needs?
Decide whether you want your gauge to measure in inches
or millimeters. Use the Measurement
Size Range Chart on that corresponding page to determine the dimensional
range you need to measure. Then compare the features that will best
suit your needs.
6.
Can you build a custom-size gauge?
Yes! Quick Skan does manufacture large format gauges up
to 90 inches or 2,300 millimeters. For these very large gauges,
there are size restrictions. Please note the dimensional restrictions
for US Units Chart and Metric
Units Chart.
7.
Do you ship gauges internationally?
Absolutely! We have sold Quick Skan Gauges to 42
countries around the world! International orders require special
consideration for electrical configurations and shipping logistics.
